Plate mounts suit carts and machinery with a strong, flat mounting surface. Multiple fasteners distribute attachment forces across the frame. Confirm plate dimensions, bolt-hole spacing, fastener grade, frame strength, overall height and swivel clearance before installation.
How is required caster load capacity calculated?
Add equipment weight, maximum payload and permanent accessories. Apply a service margin for shock, speed and floor conditions, then divide by the number of casters expected to carry load at one time. Four-caster equipment is often evaluated using three load-bearing casters because floors may be uneven.
What is the difference between a wheel brake and a total lock?
A wheel brake normally stops wheel rotation but may allow the caster to swivel. A total lock restrains both wheel rotation and swivel movement. Confirm the exact product mechanism and choose according to parking stability, operator access, floor conditions and equipment risk.
What does a directional-lock caster do?
A directional lock holds a swivel caster in a fixed travel direction, improving tracking along aisles or over longer distances. Releasing the lock restores swivel maneuverability. It controls direction rather than wheel rotation and is not a parking brake.
